With a triangulation laser you have one lens, one working distance, one resolution
Conoscopic Laser technology offers a variety of lenses to fit both the resolution and the working distance requirements of your specific application. These lenses are interchangeable on the same laser body and the centroid offset can be programmed in to a corresponding video interface. This allows operators to correlate data directly on a part regardless of whether the points were required using a video or laser interface.

A rise in quality contol and manufacturing standards requires tighter mechanical accuracy in large format measurement. Acu-Gage exceeds these standards with its Gantry Based Workstation for either Manual or Motorized Video Measurement!
The Acu-Gage video system design is specifically manufactured for larger travel measurement. Whether you need a 2d, 3d, or multi-sensor system, our unique Gantry Design allows us to control the position accuracy of the camera as opposed to the mechanical accuracy required of a large X,Y stage which can expand and come out of alignment over time. Another advantage is “The part never moves”

Acu-Gage's bridge design offers increased accuracy and versatility
A bridge design is defined as a machine base that is stationery with a moving beam that travels above a stationery part to acquire points in measuring the piece. This allows very accurate positioning of touch probes, video probes, or laser probes to be used. This gives you the optimum design in versatility, accuracy and repeatability.

Large Gantry Systems must guarantee accuracy and repeatability. Acu-Gage Video Systems use NLEC software calibration techniques to guarantee traceable straightness, squareness, and accuracy.
On large systems repeatability is actually more important than accuracy.
Building a system as mechanically accurate as possible allows Acu-Gage to create an error map and remove any machine inaccuracies from the equation.
As long as the machine error is repeatable, mathematically, error can be compensated out upon calibration. Acu-Gage uses a NIST traceable grid of over 24 x 24” of travel to break up each segment of the gantry system into smaller 2” segments. This allows an accuracy of .0002” of any location on the stage. A certified step gage is used to calibrate the Z axis.

Upgrading to Laser in the future is easy with a tape scale design
The positioning of a laser requires a much higher resolution than the video probe. With the Acu-Gage tape scale design a system may easily be upgraded to match the resolution of the laser interface. This allows for flexibility in purchasing a system with the intention of upgrading to a higher capacity system in the future.

The Advantages of Dual Screen Monitors and free software upgrades
For the ultimate in flexibility, Acu-Gage has integrated a dual screen monitor system into their workstation. Their unique design and software capability provides the following benefits:
- Uncluttered Workspace - One screen is measurement and data collection and the other is image display screen
- Customizable and password protected workspaces.
